Description of program
This is a two-semester, full school year program that students attend during one block each day. Classes are at the Gadsden Fire Academy located near the Gadsden airport. Students receive the same training as newly hired firemen.

Physical fitness, being a part of a team, basic mechanics or interest in how mechanical things work
This program is great preparation for the following careers
Firefighter and/or Emergency Medical Technician

Available certifications
Students are certified as volunteer firefighters upon completion of the program and can continue in a bridge program to become full-time firefighters.
Coursework and descriptions
Safety Standards, CPR, First Aid, Emergency Training, and Fire Fighting skills are taught.
Here’s something else you need to know
The second semester in this program involves many hands-on activities that require good physical conditioning.
