The Management & Entrepreneurship program at Gadsden City High School prepares students for success in the business world by combining leadership training, professional certifications, and real-word experience. Students explore core business areas such as business and consumer math, business software applications, customer service and sales, digital media design and digital publication design. Alongside students develop creative and technical skills. Together, these skills equip students to confidently lead, innovate, and grow successful ventures in today’s competitive business landscape.

As part of the Management and Entrepreneurship program, this course provides students with practical expertise in Business Software Applications, Customer Service and Sales, and Business and Consumer Math, building a solid foundation for effective business management and decision-making. Alongside, students develop creative and technical skills through Digital Media Design and Digital Publication Design, empowering them to craft compelling marketing materials and digital content.

Coursework Description

Business and Consumer Math equips students with practical financial skills such as budgeting, pricing, payroll, interest, and profit analysis—knowledge that is critical for both personal financial success and future business management roles. Business Software Applications emphasizes the skills required to create, edit, and publish industry-appropriate documents. Areas of instruction include the integration of word processing, desktop, publishing, spreadsheets, database management, and presentation software as well as the use of emerging technologies. Customer Sales & Service develops essential communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills to prepare students for careers in retail, marketing, and client-focused industries. The course focuses on the identification and classification of customer services, technology literacy issues related to customer service, and the human relations, leadership, organizational, and communication skills necessary for success in customer service. Digital Media Design allows students to explore creative tools and technologies used in business communication. Students learn how to design professional presentations, publications, and digital content that enhance marketing, branding, and organizational communication. Digital Publication Design provides students with a marketable experience in both print and digital publishing. Emphasis is placed on page layout and design computerized text, graphic, art digital photography, and the use of software to create a variety of publications.
